As Associate Director at Water Street Partners, Sylvia is responsible for supporting our clients in the oil and gas, alternative energy, power, utilities, and metals and mining industries.
Before joining Water Street Partners, Sylvia worked as an independent consultant on Bulgarian financial data retention legislation with the Content Group, enabling foreign financial clients to drive out cost, get to market faster and be more responsive to customers, whilst reducing risk and ensuring compliance. Prior to that, she served as research assistant within the think tank community at the Center for Transatlantic Relations in Washington, DC, the Bologna Institute for Policy Research in Italy, and the Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development in Italy. Sylvia prepared testimonies on European energy security for the US Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee and contributed to publications on the Nordic-Baltic security cooperation, transatlantic corporate inversion trends, Atlantic ocean mapping of energy routes, and the transatlantic partnership pivot to Asia.
Sylvia holds an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies with a focus in European affairs and a dual BA in Political Science and Economics from Bates College and Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po).
Sylvia speaks her native Bulgarian in addition to French, German, and Italian.
