In an attempt to absolve themselves of criminal and civil liability for the non-payment of a $1.2 billion loan taken from 13 Nigerian banks, the directors of Etisalat Nigeria, save for its chairman, Hakeem Belo-Osagie, have resigned en masse from the seven-man board of the network operator.

CEO of Chevron Phillips Chemical retires; successor named

Cella will retire on August 1. Mark Lashier, the company's vice president, will succeed Cella as the CEO, a company spokesman said.

Cella started his career 30 years ago as an engineer with Phillips Petroleum Company, now Houston-based Phillips 66. He became a part of Chevron Phillips in 2000, when California-based Chevron and Phillips 66 combined their petrochemical business to make Chevron Phillips. Earlier this month, Chevron Phillips completed two polyethylene units in Old Ocean, one part of its $6 billion Gulf Coast Petrochemicals Project.

The agreement renews the conditions for the transfer to Eni of 50% of the subsoil use rights in the Isatay block, located in the Caspian Sea, for exploration and production of hydrocarbons.

The joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and AFI KLM E&M, announced a year ago, now has an official name: Airfoils Advanced Solutions. Located at the Sars-et-Rosières business park in north of France, near Valenciennes, the new company's plant will be completed in early 2018, with operations due to kick off late 2018. By the time the Airfoils Advanced Solutions plant reaches cruise speed in 2020, it will have from 200 to 250 employees.
